The Health Benefits of Laughing: How Laughing Improves Life.

Multiple studies have found that laughing is directly related to many positive health benefits. In this century, most people have fast-moving lives with almost no respite. It all adds to a lot of stress and anxiety, which is detrimental to health. Laughing heartily is like an antidote to all of this. It can put you in a good mood by secreting the hormones that are responsible for happiness.

Laughing also involves a lot of muscle movement, which positively affects your cardiac health. This is why you will see many old people joining laughing clubs where they deliberately practice laughing to maintain a healthy heart.

Here are some other positive health benefits of laughing: –

Regulate Hormones

When you laugh, the release of three stress hormones, mainly adrenaline, is slowed. Adrenaline is responsible for the giddy feeling you get in your body when under stress. Laughing releases dopamine, which helps in releasing stress. Laughing also increases our body’s de by increasing the number of antibody-producing cells.

· Internal Exercise

Have you ever heard the phrase “it takes more effort to smile than to frown”? This may sound like something uplifting, but it is actually true from a biological aspect. More muscles are needed to smile than to frown, and even more muscles are needed for laughing. The more the intensity of the laugh, the more the exercise. When we laugh, our diaphragm and abdominal muscles repeatedly expand and contract, which is why our stomach starts hurting after we have a good laugh.

· Relieve Stress

A person can be stressed because of a variety of reasons; it may be work, studies, money, family, or relationships that can cause stress. Whatever the reason is, it isn’t good for your body. Stress affects you psychologically, and gradually the physical effects of stress start showing up too. This is why laughing is important to release stress from your body. Imagine the whistle of a pressure cooker going off. Laughing is like that as it helps your body release all the built-up pressure and stress.

· Increase In Blood Oxygenation

While we are in the midst of a bout of laughter, multiple processes happen inside our bodies at the same time and very fast. Laughing causes us to breathe very fast, and that increases our heart rate, causing blood to be pumped faster into the heart. This also increases the oxygen supply to the brain, which is very good for a healthy brain. As a side-effect of this, laughing also promotes a good memory because the brain is being taken very well care of.

Apart from this, laughing has other positive effects on the human body, the most important of which is keeping us happy. There is a lot of negativities around us in the form of the disease, political turmoil, and death, and staying mentally peaceful is needed now more than ever. Laughing rejuvenates your brain and promotes your creativity. Having a sense of humor and being able to laugh is one of the core strengths a human can possess. Therefore, keep laughing and making others laugh!
